Do you need help growing a creative life?

So many creative people are waiting for permission to write their book, compose their music or create their art. And if by some chance you are able to get started, navigating the lonely middle of a massive project can be tough. Structuring the beautiful chaos of our thoughts and finding a way to protect our creative energy when the realities of everyday life, work, caring responsibilities and having a body to look after, can feel impossible. But it needn’t be that way.

I want to help you find your path to a sustainable creative practice, whatever that looks like for you, offering support, accountability and being a sounding board as you work out what to do next.

Why work with me?

I have worked as a self-employed creative for over twenty years. During that time I’ve taught people of all ages from all kinds of backgrounds and helped them pass exams, perform in concerts, record their music, and even just find time in the middle of a complicated life to do something just for them.

And whilst helping all those people, I’ve managed to live my own creative life too. I’ve written novels, short stories and poems, created courses and resources for learners, done a Masters in creative writing, created websites and am currently doing my PhD. And I do it all in the middle of my busy, multi-hyphenate life. My pupils constantly ask me, ‘how do you do it all?’ and the answer is probably because I am stubborn and refuse to give up on things!

What’s it like working with me?

I am very patient – for over two decades I’ve been listening to people play the same two bars of music over and over until they get it right! And when they do, I celebrate with them. There is no one who is too slow or making too little in the way of progress – everyone works in a different way and I adapt my methods to help individuals rather than shoehorning people into one structure.

Whether you are wrestling with a complex novel draft, balancing studies, or trying to weave multiple creative disciplines into a cohesive life, or just want to get started doing something, I am here to show you that you do not have to walk the dark tunnels of the creative process alone.

I will help you create your own creative plan, whether that is plotting your novel, starting your studies, or just finding a way to get a little bit of time for yourself in the week. It doesn’t matter to me whether you want to start your own creative business, publish a romance novel or study at university – I will help you find the path in the forest.
