Magic, Welsh

Welsh – Language of Magic and Myth – Saturday 29th June 2019

I’d love to see some of you at a workshop I’m running in London this summer at The Atlantis Bookshop. At over 100 years old, Atlantis is the oldest independent occult bookshop in London and the lovely Geraldine and Bali have agreed to host us for the afternoon.

The Welsh language has a rich and vibrant history. As the oldest native language of the British Isles still in use, it is spoken in the communities, homes and workplaces of hundreds of thousands of Welsh people.

In this workshop we will learn how to pronounce Welsh, a little grammar and some history of the language and its literature. As this is a practical class, we will look specifically at the magical transformation tale of the great bard, Taliesin, with the aim of being able to read parts of the story aloud. The workshop will conclude with a shared reading of the story in Welsh.

Workshop 1pm – 5pm £40. To book, please phone the bookshop or head over to their website. www.theatlantisbookshop.com
